John Moran, 85, died Saturday at his home in Greencastle. The funeral was Tuesday at St. Paul's Catholic church. Mrs. Moran survives and five sons; Thomas, James, Albert, Harry and Francis. He was born in Covington, Kentucky --- thanks so much to Marilyn Walker for sharing her Roachdale Times obituary collection - greatly appreciated.

Greencastle – Fred Hixon, age 68, prominent lumberman for the last 25 years, died at Putnam County Hospital. The widow, two daughters and a son survive. John Moran, age 85, merchange for more than 50 years is dead. He was born in Covington, Ky but had lived in this city since early boyhood. The widow and five sons survive.
